Not able to repeat checklists. This is needed.

I see few responses to this but I think it it very valuable. For instance lets say I have a specific routine after I wake up. I would set a task to wake up then set a checklist to take medication, take vitamin, drink a glass of water, dress kisds, get dressed, etc. This would need repeated every day. Also is there way to make a custom repeat schedule? If its only a task done mon thru fri.?

Hi there!

We have a feature to repeat the main task to a specific day and intervals in a week. The checklist create under the parent task will be carried along as well. :)

I think making checklist re-occurring has been suggested in other posts and one of the replies was that it was a deliberate decision not to do that. that reply also provided a kind of workaround. This is for me was not really practical.

I have both morning and evening routines that have many repeatable tasks.

Currently, I have them set up as main tasks, but that results in them filling my calendar view, which distracts from the main goals of the day.

However, on the other hand, I want to monitor the tasks that form my morning and evening routines to ensure that I complete them each day. e.g. Meditation is in my morning routine and is something I want to monitor over time to measure my success as making it a new habit.

The checklist approach really works well for the routine scenario, however, having to repopulate the checklist for each and every re-occurrence is not practical as it is so time-consuming, hence resorting to maintaining them as individual tasks.

Therefore I would request that this requirement is reconsidered as an option it would be very useful and would aid the usability and aesthetics of the view within the app.

Note I'm really referring to the web app, however the same is true within the myweek the view of the iPhone app.

Hi there!

We have a feature to repeat the main task to a specific day and intervals in a week. The checklist create under the parent task will be carried along as well. :)

So, here's a related but slightly different wish regarding checklists. I would love to be able to copy or import in a subtask list from one main task into another. Or have the ability to import in a subtask list from a plain text list.

For example, as a photographer I schedule photoshoots all the time. Each shoot is a different main task, but each shoot has a base set of subtasks that are the same. I have one checklist called "Equipment" that lists out everything I need for a shoot, camera, lenses, SD cards, lights, etc. I have another checklist called "Location" that lists out a bunch of questions to ask myself when scouting a location so I know what equipment I'll need for the shoot. Then there's my "Confirmed" checklist that I've actually sent all the correct time, day, location address, weather info, props to bring, and more to everyone involved in the shoot.

Currently I use Trello to plan out my shoots and I have a set of "master" cards with these checklists on them that I then copy into the project column board of each shoot. Since WeekPlan is much more scheduling oriented than Trello I would love to use the subtask feature here for these particular lists. If there is a way to paste in a task list, or copy a subtask list from one task to another that would be swell. Because right now, I would have to manually retype in each of these lists for every shoot. Which isn't a big deal for a couple of things, but my master checklists to grow as new experiences from challenging shoots create new items I want to be prepared for, like learning hiking boots with good treads is not the best footwear for sticky muddy hills. Traditional farm cowboy boots work better because the mud slides off easily where the hiking boots the mud cakes it's self around your foot until your feet resemble an unstable Clayface and you end up sliding falling down all over the place while trying to protect the equipment. Thus, two new items were added to the master list after that day, towels and rubber galoshes overshoes. :)

You can kind of do that by sending your checklists by email: https://weekplan.net/email-integration/
