Is there a way to hide completed subtasks?

I use checklists as a way of keeping track of my ongoing list of items I need to read. Each time I read the next item (subtask) on the checklist, I mark that subtask as completed, and it remains in my checklist and has a line though it to indicate that I've completed it. So my list of completed and not-yet-completed readings continues to grow, making it unmanageable as I read more and add more readings to the list. Is there a way to hide the completed subtasks? Relatedly, is there to make the new subtasks that I add to the list appear above the completed subtasks? Right now, each new subtask that I add appears below the completed subtasks? Thanks!
