Reducing clicks

Hello Weekplan Team,

I just wanted to ask if these kind of UI improvements are on your radar: reducing clicks for task creation/modification?

For example, I double click on a newly created task with the aim of setting a duration. I click the duration button, but then I have to click again inside the text field to enter a number of minutes. Also, once I have then entered the number of minutes/hours, I cannot type Enter to confirm, I have to click.

In my opinion, it would save lots of time if the cursor was already inside the text field when you open a new dialogue window, and if you could type Enter to confirm an action instead of clicking with the mouse.

Apologies if this has already been suggested by others before, I couldn't see any other recent posts about it.

All the best,

Steve

Hi Steve,

I am actually actively looking for ways to reduce clicks. We will implement your suggestion of autofocus on "set time" textbox and allowing to press Enter.

I do not quite understand this though: "In my opinion, it would save lots of time if the cursor was already inside the text field when you open a new dialogue window, and if you could type Enter to confirm an action instead of clicking with the mouse."

When you create a new task, the focus already goes to the textbox no? And you can press enter to confirm.

Hi Aymeric,

Thanks for your reply, good to hear!

Apologies I wasn't more specific with my last point - you are right that the focus is on the textbox when you create a new task, and pressing enter to confirm here works. What I meant is, that the same isn't true for when you click the duration button.

Cheers,

Steve

Thanks, I have added autoFocus on the duration picker.
