Issue when changing email ID

I have deactivated an account with email ID #1 and created an account with email ID #2. After almost a year now I felt that email ID #1 is better. Hence while logging into account with email ID #2 I tried to change its ID to email ID #1. The system hangs with nothing really happening. Can someone help me with this issue? I really appreciate it.

What are the two email addresses you are working with?

Thank you so much for your reply Aymeric. My email ID #1: meetvm@gmail.com, email ID #2: karthikvm.uc@gmail.com. I would like to change back to email ID #1.
