How to schedule subtasks separately?

I created a task and broke it down into component subtasks thinking it would help me make a bit of progress every day. But when I try to drag a subtask to the day-planner strip at the top, it drags the entire task and all its pieces. Is it possible I'm misunderstanding how this works?

Our apologies for the confusion. Please be advised that subtasks are dependent of the parent task. You can only drag parent tasks and not the subtasks individually.

You can do it in two ways: 

  1. You click on the subtask and set the date and time from the edit task sidebar
  2. You click on the parent task (the sidebar will show) then you drag the subtask into the day you want
