"Change completion status" box pops up over task

Hi there. Starting maybe about two weeks ago, every time I check a task to mark it complete, a black box with the words "Change completion status" then pops up and covers the task immediately following the one I just checked off. It sometimes randomly goes away, but the only way to reliably move it is to check off another task somewhere else...
