If task is open and you start the timer, it does not track time against the task. only if you close the task window will it track. I would like to track the time when the task is open as it has details about the task I would like to view

Thanks so much for the quick response. However, the issue is NOT that the time isn't running while the task is open, it is the fact that the time is NOT LOGGED ON THE TASK if you have it open with the timer running.
