Can't get rid of old recurring tasks that came from Google Calendar

Hi there,

I have some old tasks that always show up and clog up my weekplan.  They were from daily standup schedule from last year, and were created in Google Calendar.  It's quite likely that they were set to repeat in Google Calendar until further notice but it appears that Weekplan copied them all over at once, well into the future (at least a year).

The events have now been deleted and the repetition ended in my Google Calendar, and none of them appear there, but they show up every week in weekplan, and choosing "Delete this task and end repetition" does nothing as although they were recurring in Calendar they seem to be discrete tasks within weekplan.  There doesn't appear to be a bulk delete option for tasks with a certain name or anything, so what can I do to delete them? I can't click on every day for the next however many years and delete each item...

Here's a screenshot showing they go right through into the future (October, but they go at least until Jan next year), but they show up in most weeks in week view, just the first ones in month view. It's the Course dev hangout ones:

Hi Hannah,

We deleted those 2 events 9:33 Course Dev Hangout and 15:00 HOTs meeting. It occurs due to some server downtime and dev's are working on it.

Red G symbol with task represents the read-only tasks on Google and they can't be changed. You can modify the task with grey G symbol tasks and the changes will be reflected on Google Calendar and vice versa.

Regarding Objectives, they are specific for the Workspace and if you create new team workspace they will be different from the previous workspace.

Let me know if the issue still not resolved.

Thanks,

Hi Hannah,

Thanks for the details. I forwarded it to the dev team to check it further. I will get back to you shortly.

Ok for extra details, I tried to create a new team (didn't realise I could do that with same account) to start fresh even though I'd lose all my objectives.   I did it and set the same google calendar these repeating events came from to pull and push.  Then sync'ed them.  Got all the events in the calendar, but I had one recurring one in my google calendar for a meeting that's happening 3 days a week.  Once it synchronized, I ended up with 2 copies of that event on Monday, at the same time, same name, same description.  One said it was created 24 days ago (approximately when the event was created in Google calendar by a colleague who invited me), and one said it was created a few minutes ago when I synchronised.

One showed as recurring with the recurring symbol, and one didn't, both had red 'Gs' next to them.  I then couldn't edit or delete or stop the repetition of the recurring one.  So then I was worried I had ruined my new team workspace, but I set that calendar to not pull or push resynchronised, and refreshed the page and all of those events went away, thank goodness.  But now I have to start all over again with vision, values, objectives etc. as none of those appear to be attached to "me" just the first team I had that has been ruined with the repeating events?

I can't edit any details at all of these events apart from the titles. If I try to change the date, then click save and close, the tile for the event disappears for a few seconds and then it just reappears back on the original date and time. I tried to set them to start repeating in 2082 so I wouldn't have to see them anymore, but that didn't work. I've tried clearing all my weekplan cookies etc., nothing works.

Hi Geeta,

Thanks for getting back to me. It seems to be working OK for new events in my calendar, but I just cannot for the life of me get rid of these events I've been showing.  The 9:33 Course Dev Hangout and 15:00 HOTs meeting which are no longer in my google calendar and haven't been for almost a year, but if I try to stop them recurring, or try to delete all the events, they just reappear as soon as I refresh:

I just set the same calendar these come from back to pull, added an event to that, saw it and all the others for this week appear in week plan, deleted the new event in google calendar, saw it deleted in weekplan, then set the calendar so it no longer pulled and resynchronised and all the other events for this week disappeared too, so that's working fine.  I just can't get rid of these ones.

Is there any way you can just go into the data for my account and remove them or something?  Also what is the difference between the red G for google as some events have it red and some have it grey?

So, to summarise, it looks like the issue is fixed for new events, but my actual problem isn't because I can't get rid of these ones.  Thanks if you can help.

Hi Hannah,

Our sincere apologies for the delay. We have deployed the synchronization fixes recently. The issue should be for your account. Let me know if you are still facing the same problem.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hi there, has this new version been released yet? It has been a long time and I still have this issue.  It's pretty annoying having every day have multiple wrong events in it that I can't get rid of, kind of defeats the purpose :( Any help greatly appreciated.

I now have less of these in my calendar as I've turned off sync from my google one.  But there's still one instance of "course dev hangout" and one of "hots meeting", that are at the old times and I can't even edit the time IN weekplan to the correct time or delete them :/.  Is this something you guys are looking into or not?  It would be really helpful if you could post an update so I know what to expect going forward, as it's not very useful for me not being able to sync with my google calendar :(
