How to use filter tasks

I tried to filter tasks associated with role by clicking on filter icon. When I do that everything disappears from calendar and from someday. I tried this in Chromium and Firefox.
One more thing, is there a way to search tasks? Thanks!

Hi Lea,
You need to associate your tasks to roles to be able to see something when you filter by role. 
When you edit the details of a task, you have a dropdown list for the Role.
Regarding searching tasks, could you describe in what scenario you would use the search?

Hi! Thanks for your answer. I did associate tasks to roles. And when I filter by role (everything disappears) and then add new task it is associated with the role I filtered by.
Regarding search - I would like to search for a task I don't know exactly when I have finished it.
