add multiple lines of text to comment

sometimes i want to write a comment and have lines between them like

fjdasklfjadskfajsd;fdsak

dfajsklfjadsfkdajsasdklj

but anytime i press return, it automatically saves the comments and makes, me end up with multiple comments when i wanted one with shift+return between them.
