Also, the new layout doesn't work with Google Chrom. I use Version 12.0.742.112. Can you please check? Thanks.

You should be able to update your version of Chrome without the IT's involvement. 
Try to enter this in your Chrome address bar: chrome://chrome

You should be able to update from there...

Wow! that's a very old version of Chrome that you have got, I have the version #40.

Why don't you update Chrome? Any particular reason?
