Putting multiple tasks in at once without having to click?

I've noticed lately that after I hit enter and add a task that the typing box is no longer highlighted after a few seconds and I need to click it again before I add another task. Sometimes it evens cuts me off typing because of the delay. If this something wrong or something that has changed?
