Prioritizing is missing in backlog

I used to prioritize my tasks in my backlog but I cannot find the feature anymore. It used to be in the options (three dots) in the header of a list, but now there are only the options 'Edit List' and 'Delete'. I really miss this feature! See screenshot:

Hi Aymeric,

Thanks for getting back at me. I kinda missed that the quadrant view is a view mode nowdays, sorry for the confusion. 

Regarding the Quadrant view for Boards and especially the option of automaticaly ordering the tasks on a list according to priority, I do think it makes sense to use them in the boards. Here's why.


The Urgency of certain tasks can change. A task on your board could be non-urgent last week, but urgent this week. For instance a minor issue in software that only affected a few people last week, but way more this week. Or, when priorities and urgencies of clients suddenly change.

Another reason for putting the quadrant view (or another prioritizing feature) back in the boards-section, is for the workflow of weekly planning and this is the most important reason.


You want to decide before planning your week what your priorities are for that week. 


Task can come from anywhere, but a lot will come from your boards. In my case, I have a lot of boards in which I 'park' tasks. Ideally I want the most urgent/important tasks on top of a list and make a HIT. From the HIT view I plan them in my week. That's a really nice workflow. 


Right now, placing the most urgent and/or important tasks in my week takes a lot of work without the quadrant option:

  1. Open tasks from a list
  2. Decide: urgent and/or important
  3. Save and close task
  4. Drag Urgent/Important tasks to the top of the list
  5. Drag Important right below Urgent/Important tasks in the list
  6. Pick your HITS from top of the list

Repeat this for all of the boards and lists... 

The quadrant view was extremely helpfull for this, especially the option of automaticaly ordering the tasks on a list according to priority. 


In my honest opinion, I don't think the quadrant view gets in the way either on the boards. If you don't want to use it, it just sits there. If you do want to use it, it's extremely helpfull. 


Maybe you can reconsider bringing back this option. It could be for every list seperately, like it used to be, or maybe you can implement the 'quadrant view' you have for the planner in the board-section as well. 

I hope you will reconsider this or help me with another solution :)

Hi, the quadrant view should be available as a view mode, next to Planner and Calendar icons.

Regarding the Quadrant view for Boards, it doesn't make as much sense because Urgency doesn't make as much sense on tasks that don't have any date.

It's takes a lot of extra time to give a task the properties of important and/or urgent, but ordering the tasks by priority in a lists is what takes even more time. I really liked the feature of ordening the tasks automatically in a list. It saves a lot of time.


By the way, it seems that prioritizing feature on the planner view is missing as well. I can't find it anywhere?

Yeah, I know that. But that's a work-around... Before you place tasks in the planner, you have to prioritize them right? That's one of the points of Weekplan: Prioritize tasks in the backlog with the 4 quadrants and stuff that's in quadrant 2 should go into your planner. That's even what you guys say in the last part of the explainer on the Backlog page (when you hit the question mark). See my screenshot as wel. With the Prioritize option missing, it's a lot more difficult to prioritize. And it used to be there, so maybe it's a bug?

You can assign date to tasks and then you can use prioritize feature on planner view.
