Unchecked Recurring/Repeating Tasks Disappear

I was unable to complete a monthly recurring task for the 16th of the month. On the 17th I checked for the recurring task which should have appeared on the calendar under the 16th. However, the task did not appear anywhere on the calendar.  I performed a search for the task and the search results showed that it was moved to the 17th but it is not on the calendar.

I rely on recurring tasks to make payments and perform maintenance tasks.  Needless to say disappearing tasks are unacceptable.  This issue is occurring across all apps.
